Partnering with a Green Event Venue

We’ve partnered with the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort to host this year’s program as our primary event venue.  The resort is a certified member of the Florida Green Lodging program.

The Loews Sapphire Falls Resort reduces waste, conserves natural resources and prevents pollution by using cost-saving “green” practices such as:

  • Education and communication for team members and guests
  • Food donation or composting
  • Linen and towel re-use
  • Recycling bins in common areas, guest room newspaper recycling
  • Reducing energy and resource consumption
  • Using biodegradable or recycled products

Digital Materials

We’re doing away with printed confirmation packets, travel itineraries, and breakout session materials.  Instead, content will be delivered digitally through email and our Sun Events mobile app.

Offsetting Our Carbon Footprint

Although carbon emissions from travel to and from events is unavoidable, carbon footprint offsetting is a verified, direct, and immediate means to reduce the negative climate impact from these activities.

In partnership with our Sun Unity social responsibility program, Sun will donate to a Carbonfund.org to offset our event’s carbon footprint created through air and ground transportation, estimated water and energy use, and the impact of hotel room-night emissions.

Eco Friendly Materials

We’ve partnered with our event venue to maximize the use of biodegradable, compostable, and eco-friendly serveware.
